An Introduction to Commercial Terms, with specific emphasis on the ICCās IncotermsĀ® Rules, 2020
Thank you for showing an interest in this material. This course comprises of a series of 23 modules designed to allow for a thorough understanding of the subject of Commercial Terms (a course prospectus is available for downloading via the link at the foot of this page.)
Although starting at an entry level, the material moves through the intermediate level to an advance level as the course progresses, and seasoned users of commercial terms will also benefit from the course, providing, as it does, a firm foundation that is otherwise often lacking.
The material challenges many preconceived and often incorrect ideas, and unpacks some of the finer points of the Rules in an accessible and meaningful manner.
The material is broad and takes in several related areas such as customs valuation, marine insurance, and common payment conditions, in as much as they each relate to the core subject of commercial terms.
Importantly, this course is geared toward the practical application of the Rules; not just what they are, but how to use them.
The whole comprises of 7 Ā½ hours of lectures and, depending on your individual referencing and reading speed, around 4 Ā½ hours of reading. In addition, the course has 22 quizzes posing more than 65 practical questions.
The course may be undertaken over a 35-day period and you are encouraged to pace the material within that window ā short bursts are far more effective than deep immersion.
